How to change baby’s nappy once they are on the move

You spend ages willing them to move and meet the next milestone and as soon as they do you realise that actually life was a whole lot easier before they could do any of those things.

Oh the joys of trying to change a baby’s nappy once they have learnt how to roll. Or not. They suddenly develop a ninja like ability to flip away with lightening speed just at a crucial moment and normally whilst trying to change a dirty nappy and manage to spread poo everywhere. Lovely.

Whilst I cannot help you to stop them flipping and spreading poo other than saying give them something to hold, chat to them and make eye contact with them and failing that put a hand on their tummy and ty to clean them with one hand. Yep I know, easier said than done. I can make the putting on the nappy part so much easier.

My trick is this, use pull ups.

Pull ups are not just for the toilet training phase. Oh no. They are in fact perfect for a flipping, wriggling or crawling baby. They can wriggle all they like. All you have to do is catch their feet and then keep pulling up a bit at a time until you have them pulled up into place.

I remember using them when my son started to roll and flip and it would often take about 6 pulls to get it fully up into place whilst following him all around the room.
